As you may have previously guessed, We are a fan of doughnuts.
So, of course, when we discovered we’d be staying only a few blocks from the premier Doughnut spot in Paris, we were excited.
That excitement only increased, when we stopped in (the first time) and realized that they not only offered a maple-whiskey and bacon doughnut, but that it was named “the Doc Holliday,” after the infamous gunslinging companion of Wyatt Earp, immortalized by Val Kilmer in Tombstone. Delicious and named after one of Ben’s favorite movie characters? We were hooked.
Honestly, it’s hard not to love Boneshaker. Run by an adorable husband and wife couple (Amanda Bankert, former pastry chef at Michelin-starred restaurants in the states) and Louis Scott (charming Irishman), their shop is a pocket-sized cafe in the second arrondissement serving a rotating menu of doughnuts and drip coffee from Belleville Brûlerie. Everything is baked fresh upstairs using French flour, organic eggs and seasonal ingredients.
If you find yourself in the neighborhood be sure to drop in, grab a treat and sit at their widow front bar. You won’t regret it!
...In fact, Ben loved it so much, he bought a T Shirt!
