So, we’ve been fans of Best Made Co for a long (looong) time.
Their products are peerless, their design is wonderful, their Tribeca shop is easily one of the coolest retails spaces in the city, and their pop-ups in Brooklyn (and beyond) are always so well considered and fun.
You get it. So when we heard they were doing a cold-weather cookout with legendary chef (and their frequent collaborator) Francis Mallmann, we were in! Aside from the fact that it was a chance to eat some of Mallmann’s world renowned food (for free nonetheless) we knew it would be a special event. Plus they were hosting it in McCarren park - right in the heart of our old neighborhood. So we bundled up and hopped on the train to Brooklyn.
To no surprise, everything was spectacular. There were two delicious sandwiches (one steak and one roasted veg) and a mind numbingly good butternut squash and pesto soup to eat. Their design work carried through to every element you could think of - custom branded napkins, cup sleeves, sandwich wrappers, table cloths - all equally clever and elevated. Just the sort of work you would expect from Best Made.
Plus the crowd was polite and excited, it felt like a really joyous community event. Not one we’ll forget anytime soon.
